LeBron James definitely has a reputation as a good guy in the NBA, and is looking to keep things that way, as he is now denying taking a shot at fellow Cleveland Cavalier Kevin Love after admitting that the original subtweet was indeed about Love.
The post in question came February 7th, when James sent out this message via Twitter.
“Stop trying to find a way to FIT-OUT and just FIT-IN. Be apart of something special. Just my thoughts.”
While James certainly didn’t mention any names, reporters at the Lakers/Cavaliers game yesterday suspected it was about teammate Kevin Love. James initially had this to say when asked who it was for.
“It was more about people in general. It was a general thought I had. Obviously whatever thought I have people try to encrypt it and Da Vinci code it and all that stuff. People are always trying to fit out instead of fit in and be part of something special. That’s what it’s all about.”
Reporters, however, pressed LeBron on his very politically correct response, with one of them quoting this comment Love himself made about “fitting in and out” back in October.
“I’m comfortable and just not trying to, I guess, fit in so much. I had a talk with the guys on the plane ride over (to Brazil) and also at different practices off the floor and they told me to fit out. Just be myself.”
When this was brought up to James, the NBA baller admitted it was about Love, saying “It’s not a coincidence, man.”
Today, LeBron took to Twitter to criticize the media for reporting on the subtweet, saying if he has anything to say to his teammates, he’ll say it to their faces. Take a look at his Tweets above.
