Russell Simmons To Continue Production With HBO On Five New Series & Def Comedy Anniversary Special

Russell Simmons will continue his long-time partnership with HBO, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The music and media mogul signed an overall deal with the network through his new company, All Def Digital. Five projects have been launched, with three being developed currently though ADD.
One includes a weekly televised version of All Def Digital’s comedy night, a Def Comedy Jam 25th Anniversary Special celebrating the show’s legacy, and an executive producing deal with director Steve McQueen for his series, Codes of Conduct.
Simmons released a statement about his new projects and says he’s thrilled about continuing his relationship with HBO.

“HBO has been like a home to me for a generation,” said Simmons. “I am enormously proud of the broad range of programming they have nurtured. Together, we have discovered new voices and helped launch emerging artists that deserved a mainstream platform. I am even more excited by the next generation of talent and shows that we are developing through All Def Digital TV.”
