Months ago, Lonzo Ball said that no one listens to Nas anymore on his family’s reality show. The Lakers rookie later said he didn’t mean to disrespect the hip-hop legend, he was just sharing his opinion as a young person in 2017.
After that, Ball’s manager was spotted wearing a shirt that had Ball’s face on the cover of a Nas album, and Ball included that shirt design that seemed to take a shot as Nas when he teased his new apparel collection.
That brings us to Tuesday — the first time Ball played in a Lakers jersey at Madison Square Garden — and the hoodie the 20-year-old chose to wear.
YEP, that’s the Nas shirt design on a hoodie — a brilliant troll job.
Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell couldn’t believe it.
Update: After the Lakers lost to the Knicks in overtime, Nas had something to say on Instagram: He congratulated the New York team on the victory, something he doesn’t normally do.
The thing about all of this is according to Nas’ manager, Nas wasn’t fazed by Ball saying no one listens to his music anymore. In fact, the manager said the rapper didn’t even know who Ball was until he was told about the NBA rookie’s comments.
